According to the provisions of OMTI 1039/2024, as subsequently amended and supplemented, starting from March 28, 2025, metropolitan tickets are defined as follows:
- metropolitan ticket – valid for a 2nd class journey by a single Regio train of any railway passenger operator, between stations on the route within the metropolitan area, on the date and the 90-minute period of time established at purchase;
- metropolitan pass – valid for several journeys between railway stations/stops on a certain metropolitan area (between railway stations/stops serving that area), by 2nd class Regio trains of any railway passenger transport operator, within the validity period; metropolitan passes are valid for journeys of 3, 24 and 72 hours, respectively 7, 15 and 30 consecutive days.
Note! Metropolitan tickets (tickets and passes) purchased before March 28 this year, remain valid under the conditions in which they were purchased, namely on all train categories and within the timeframe mentioned on this ticket.
Important to know!
Metropolitan tickets do NOT give the right to change the transport contract (interruption of the journey, postponement/anticipation of the journey outside the validity period, cancellation of the journey with the refund of the collected amounts).
Seat reservation is not mandatory for metropolitan tickets.
Currently, metropolitan tickets will only be issued online, through the One Stop Shop (the platform provided by the Railway Reform Authority).
