According to the provisions of OMTI 1039/2024, the types of metropolitan tickets are defined as follows:
- metropolitan ticket valid for a single journey on a single section (route) of a metropolitan area, by a single train of any railway passenger operator, during a day set on purchase;
- metropolitan pass valid for several journeys on a certain metropolitan area (between railway stations/stops serving that area), by trains of any rank of any railway passenger transport operator, within the validity period; metropolitan passes are valid for journeys of 3, 24 and 72 hours, respectively 7, 15 and 30 consecutive days.
Important to know!
Metropolitan tickets do NOT give the right to change the transport contract (interruption of the journey, postponement/anticipation of the journey outside the validity period, cancellation of the journey with the refund of the collected amounts).
Seat reservation is not mandatory for metropolitan tickets.
In the first stage of implementation of OMTI no. 1039/2024, metropolitan tickets will only be issued online, through the One Stop Shop (the platform provided by the Railway Reform Authority).
